Art

Ephemeral Shadows

Philosophy of the Cube
Our installation embodies the journey through life’s complexities, represented by a glow-in-the-dark labyrinth. As you navigate its twists and turns, encounter paintings that challenge your perception and prompt deep introspection.
Reflection and Introspection
The journey culminates in a serene room where shadows are preserved, inviting you to meditate on the transient yet meaningful nature of existence. These shadows, enduring beyond their natural lifecycle, symbolize wisdom and the profound impact of fleeting moments.

Art Cars

Saboku

A geometric beast born from dust and light, glowing through the night as it roams the Playa — a fusion of art, sound, and tribe energy that never sleeps.
More

Tortuga

A lounge art car born from the Playa spirit: slow like a turtle, steady through the chaos. Inside — pillows, shade, and calm when the dust and madness rise.

Meet the Team

Hakuna Matata brings together 68 burners who build, create, and live the experience together. Our core team features five key members who help guide the camp’s spirit and structure.

Values

We’re not a plug and play camp, we build it together and that’s our common home for the week of the event. We value:

LNT (Leaving No Trace)

Every burner, every day, picks up trash, debris, and all sorts of MOOP. Like boy scouts, we leave Playa better than we found it. Make it a habit. You’ll practice it a lot in the camp.

Radical Self-Reliance

Your water, food, hygiene, bike, medicine, and everything else you’re expecting to have in BRC you handle yourself. We’re not a plug’n’play camp and don’t have paid workers/servants.

Communal Effort

Burning Man is non-transactional and non-commercial event: no advertisement, no paid workers, no commodities, no VIPs.

Decommodification

The City and The Camp are built by us, by burners. We address our common needs and problems together and we join forces when possible. That’s what unites us.
